Hello. I’m running for the Governing Board of the Etiwanda School District because I will bring student well-being, learning, and family engagement to the forefront of education. I have lived in the Etiwanda community since 2003. I am married and have three children that attended schools within the district. I have worked in education over 24 years as a teaching assistant, teacher, high school principal, adjunct college professor, and now work as a coordinator for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools.
At the County, I have trained teachers and administrators in curriculum and instruction. I worked on events for school districts, including Academic Decathlon, Mock Trial, History Day, Young Artists Gallery, Performing Arts Showcase, Reading Rally, and many others. I also worked with the California Department of Education in rolling out curriculum standards and in their California Distinguished Schools Program. I earned my doctorate degree in Educational Leadership, emphasizing teaching and learning. I have a Chief Business Officials certificate which gives me knowledge about California’s school finance. These experiences provide me with a profound understanding of education at the classroom, site, district, county, and state level.
Your vote for Dr. Fermín Jaramillo is a vote for ALL students in Etiwanda!
Thank you.
I was born and raised in Southern California. My parents, Baltazar and Maria, immigrated to this country and devoted their time to raising two children. My father was a factory worker and my mother was a homemaker and held other jobs. They emphasized our public education and actively supported church activities for us. My parents instilled the importance of faith, hard work, determination, and honesty.
I met my lovely wife Emily while working at the same company 25 years ago. We've been happily married for over 24 years and are blessed to have three wonderful children; Luke, Landon, and Lincoln. All three attended schools in the Etiwanda District.
Terrence Nash, my father-in-law, is a retired business owner and my mother-in-law, Sheila, is a retired school teacher. I am thankful for the unwavering love and support they provide my family and I in our lives and my career.
